We’ve tried artistic piercings using captive bead rings and ribbon but never wire and ribbon before. To our delight it turned out beautifully! The wire makes the ribbon lie flat against the skin and provides a cleaner, sharper overall look.
This project was accomplished using sterilized 99.9% pure platinum wire and 18g piercing needles (and some pretty ribbon for the finishing touch). These supplies and materials were chosen to mitigate the risk of allergic reaction and the skin was properly cleaned and prepped before and after piercing to reduce the risk of infection.
