FUNdamentals of Negotiation

This  workshop teaches some fundamental principles of negotiations for play. The topics discussed apply whether the scene in a few minutes long, or days long, and covers many styles of play. Time permitting, workshop attendees are invited to participate in mock negotiation sessions.

Topics covered include:

•Some purposes of negotiation: safety, consent, protection, planning

• Opt in vs Opt out consent models

• From the top perspective vs bottom perspective

• Physical, verbal, psychological, sexual, emotional limits

• Risks and pitfalls

• Avoiding misunderstandings: written vs verbal communications
